As for AC/DC, at least you know, he died, so having a new singer is good (and I mean, I like a lot of BJ-era AC/DC....)
Van Halen... I like he DLR stuff. And I'm totally glad he was singing the concert last night. But, wow. They've flipped their singer so many times it's scary. :)
Diamond Dave was awesome twenty years ago. I don't know how I feel about him now. I do have a love of the Hagar that many seem to lack, though. :) So my answer is sort of "Old Dave, new Sammy"?
No problem. If you don't have an opinion, that's ok. :)
In both cases, the band at some point replaced their lead singer and it's nearly a holy war about who is better. I thought I'd feed the fires a bit.
In Van Halen, DLR was the original singer, but left after ... disagreements with the rest of the band, and was replaced by Sammy Hagar. The current Van Halen tour is the first one in like 25 years that DLR has been singing for.
In AC/DC's case, Bon Scott was the original singer, until he died tragically due to alcohol, and was eventually replaced by Brian Johnson. :)
DLR is god of godly god men. Hagar was okay but it was a totally different band. What's interesting about Van Halen now is how Roth is mostly tame now, while Eddie's become a giant asshole.

And "We can't stop here, this is Big Country!"... and... argh, I could go on :)
I'm impressed that DLR can still rock out, then. He just seems so damn decrepit I didn't think he still had it. ;)

While a little more clean cut, he's the best looking 53 year old I've seen in a long time :)
Check this out; this is approximately what I saw:

Can go either way on AC/DC, they're both good.
