Out of curiosity, what do various people pay for electricity, and what do they call it?

I answered the first question wrong, since "supplies the power" and "generates the power" are now separate entities and hydro bills have become confusing messes.

IMHO the previous Ontario government's changes to Ontario Hydro were fucking stupid and have made pretty much everything about electricity in Ontario worse. But I bet a bunch of their cronies got rich(er).

Yabbut I don't wanna. ;-) "Hydro" here.

I'd like to get my own micro fusion reactor... I'm not sure I get enough sun for conventional solar panels to produce enough.

I also pay an additional fee to support expansion of "green" power sources, the majority of our power is hydro, some wind/solar and an environmentally mitigated natural gas source. But we do buy on the open market from mixed sources as required.

Wow, I'm looking at other people's rates, and thinking I don't have it too bad...

Well, delivery is another 5 cents, around here.

It's included in our condo fees as a flat rate and the condo complex gets its power. We have no control over it, but we also don't pay for any direct metering or usage.

That's rather interesting and communistic. ;-)

It apparently makes our development ideal for grow-ops, since they don't have meters on individual units, so the huge power consumption involved in running a grow-up is harder to detect. The city is talking abot requiring individual unit metering for all units even if they don't get charged for power individually, just to help police detect grow-ops.

Is that actually a problem, or just one of those "well, people could do it..." things?

The individual condos don't seem large enough (or cheap enough!) for it to be worthwhile.

Not a clue, despite looking like a huge hippie. ;-)

I do think it should be legalized (hey, it's no worse than booze or cigarettes) though.

I gather it's a real "people have actually done it" issue. Also, a lot of people bought units and then rent them out, so I think it's renters from individuals who have mostly done it.

You should do one for water!

My water is about 80 bucks a month, for about 10 cubic meters.

If I use 0 cubic meters, it's about 77 a month!
