Spring is here...
It must be spring, because suddenly I've had the urge to clean everything and anything.
We've hired a cleaning lady once a month to help with the cleaning, which I think has been a very worthwhile investment. Not only does she clean stuff, but she also motivates us to clean so that everything would be in a good enough state for her to clean (we can't leave clutter everywhere, for example, cause then she can't clean around it!) The irony is that we have to clean to clean, but the division of labour is nice. Since she was here yesterday, things look pretty good, but I've been going around tidying everything, and even digging into old boxes and throwing out stuff that I probably don't need anymore. I even blew out the keyboard. Egad.
This Spring cleaning isn't limited to the real world. I've been going through my email, replying to things, filing other things, doing the monthly finances, getting stuff ready for taxes, and the like.
Super productive day!
Also, I won too much stuff, and not enough places to put it all. Grr.
Can I say how much I'm glad for the conveniences of modern technology, that while I'm doing my own tidying my robots can be cleaning for me? Washing machines and dishwashers are wonderful inventions. Also,
the_infamous_j just bought me a Roomba (Red) yesterday for my birthday, as they were really cheap at Factory Direct.
I would not want to be ye houseperson of olde scrubbing on a washboard... \

You will understand why my house is not Better Homes & Gardens at all times. *smile*

I agree that it's a fantastic investment. I'm figuring by later summer of next year we'll have everything paid off and we'll immediately bring back maid service every 2 weeks. Like you said, it helps us to keep the place tidy but also all the little things that I never get around to actually get done. I can't wait.

But it took me 1.5 hours to clean all the germy guck out of the bathroom sink today (I should've STARTED with the Easy-Off BAM....because that stuff is incredible). And I did manage to de-clog the bathtub...so I guess we can call it productive. I also cooked two meals.
Hmmm....
