I'm quite enjoying my Christmas break, other then perhaps a mild case of being overfed :)

I tried another run of Super Metroid. I got to Ridley at about the 2h10 mark, but I don't seem to have enough energy tanks to beat him. Oops.

So, I decided to do something different. I reinstalled Steam, and downloaded Portal on Christmas day (when I had absolutely no commitments).

I honestly can't think of anything bad to say about this game. It was totally awesome, from start to finish. The whole mechanic was fun. The writing and character development (such as it was), was excellent. The humour, fantastic. The ending, wonderful. The length, perfect. Even Zero Punctuation loved it. The song (Still Alive, by Jonathon Coulton), great. It's quite possibly the best PC game I've played in years. [/fanboy].

I can has weighted companion cube now?

Though I am not a gamer (unless we're talking Super Bust-a-Move and all its variations) I still love that damn song and really want one of these.

Someone out there is making plush companion cubes and I want one so badly. The price is exorbitant, but it does make me realise I could actually make them myself. A few may become birthday presents.

ooooh. I'll send you nice nature photos for a companion cube that I don't have to drop in the incinerator.

HATED IT! Kidding....It was one of the few games I've seen ZP say nice things about. I had a good time with it. :)

That Zero Punctuation is hilarious.

Thoroughly enjoyable! I question the ratings for some of the challenges, but that may just be because I can't be bothered to try and beat seemingly impossible requirements.

I vote we make solid-lead companion cubes. After carrying that around for a day or two, you'll WANT an incinerator.

When will I learn? Don't go looking for music mentioned by Max.

Never seen Portal. Have Still Alive running in a loop, sucking the last vestiges of sanity from me.

Saw the youtube trailer (with barely-legible text), then I downloaded it. Played through it in a few hours (a couple parts stumped me for a while) and then I beat it.

Have the mp3 sitting on Beast, if you want it. I've listened to it WAY too much.

I can has weighted companion cube! Valve was selling 6" plush ones in their store; they've since sold out, but mine is awesome.

I guess it's not so much "weighted" as "huggable", though. Hmm.

*wanders off to prod the Vital Apparatus Vent again*

I put "weighted companion cube" on the list of things I wanted for Christmas, mostly as a joke as there would be no time to order one in time.

Apparently the fuzzy dice are arriving some time next week. :)

You might have been able to have the weighted companion cube if you didn't kill it.
