A late meme...
Comment on this post. I'll choose seven userpics from your profile and you'll reply explaining what they mean and why you're using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.
I was asked by
aleriel to explain some of my user pics.
1) Bubble wrap (by
sasuran)

Something made my
sasuran during my "Please make me userpics" drive. For whimsical stuff, or for the few times where I actually do talk about bubble wrap (Like Mom's Christmas present last year). She picked it out of my interests and made a cute icon for it.
2) Judo frog (by
iggabod)

When I was younger I user to take judo as a martial art, and earned up to a blue belt, two from black. Also, I think frogs are cute. For a brief time during university, I went back to the club I used to go to with
phantasm13 and some others. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have the time or discipline or fitness to take up a martial art now. I'm not entirely sure I ever used this.
3) shadows on the mountainside (from The Tea Party)

This comes from a freeze frame capture from the beginning of the song "Shadows on the Mountainside" by The Tea Party, from Illuminations, their music video DVD. The Tea Party are a band I quite enjoy.
I really liked the colour composition. I use this for thoughtful posts.
Here's a youtube copy of the video: Shadows On The Mountainside
4) eye

My default, and first-ever icon. I took it quite a long time ago (2000 or 2001) with a cheap webcam, back when eye-cons were cool, and then used The GIMP (oh, it was painful to use then) to crop it, and desaturate everything but my iris. I really liked the effect. I've been using it ever since.
5) grumpy turtle (by
bery)

Totally random brain wave by
bery. It would be used if I ever had a grumpy post to make; but the times that I'm grumpy and that I want to post about it are few and far between. And if the grump was directed towards someone in specific, it'd probably get the "I hate you, <3 mtffm" icon. Which needs to be updated...
6) bike (by
iggabod)

I quite enjoy cycling, but I haven't done a lot in the last few years. When I was really into it, I used to do a little over 1000 km a year. So this is for hypothetical posts about cycling, or perhaps hobbies (that aren't juggling, I have an icon for that). I need people to cycle with next year (looks at locals, including
the_infamous_j...
7) sunset (by
petfish)

I'm not sure where this came from, either, but
petfish made it for me. I liked sillhouette effect, and it's would also be used for thoughtful posts, especially about social or interpersonal relations.
Whee, that was fun. :)
