So, last year, J and I bought a lawnmower from Canadian Tire, by a company called Yardworks. It's a cordless lawnmower, meaning it's electric, with a battery. I hate gas lawnmowers, cause they're noisy and smelly, and the cables of electric ones are annoying, so this one was perfect.

It worked really well last year.

This year, I took it out of winter storage, and I'm unable to charge it. So, I decide to order a new charger.

I call Yardworks, and give them the model number, and they tell me they're going to transfer me to someone who can help me with that. "Someone" turns out to be "Sunrise Global Distributing" which is another company that actually distributes the lawnmower.

So, they transfer me, and the phone system says their agents are busy, and drops me to answering machine. I leave a message.
A couple days pass, and I call again, get transferred, and dropped to answering machine. I leave another message.

A week later, I call Yardworks up again, bitch that I can't actually get through, and they say that they're updating/fixing/doing something to their phone system, and I should be patient cause it's the beginning of the season and lots of people would be calling.

Eventually, their phone system is fixed and puts me in a hold queue like it should have in the first place, and they agree that the charger might be broken, and sell me a new one for $30, including shipping. Not too bad, thinks I.

Elapsed time: two weeks.

So, time passes, and it never arrives. Our lawn has been taken over by weeds. They're several feet tall. It looks like a jungle. We borrow a lawnmower and mow. Three weeks later, I call them up and say "WTF?!", and it seems they'd forgotten to send the order or something. He says it's in the mail room, and just hadn't been sent. He says he'll get it sorted out, and he'll call me back later. An hour later, he calls me back, says it'll go out 'today', and provides me with a tracking number.

Elapsed time: five weeks.

Two days later, the charger arrives. It's the wrong one. The part number on the invoice is correct, but what's in the box is a charger for the batteries for their weedwhackers. The battery plugs into it, and it charges it. The charger I need is a transformer brick with an end that plugs into a socket into the lawnmower. I finally find the time to call them a few days later (they have 9-5 type phone hours), and bitch. They apologize profusely, and say they'll send the correct one out, and it'll be three to five business days.

Elapsed time: six weeks.

Our lawn looks like a jungle again. We borrow the friends' lawnmower again. Today they call and leave a message saying the package returned due to an invalid address. I call them up, all like, "WTF? You have the right address, you've already sent me one!". The guy goes to check in on it, and says "Oops! We forgot to put the unit number on it! I'll re-send it out right away!"

Elapsed time: seven weeks.

And I still don't have it. Theoretically I should have it by Tuesday. Let's hope it's the right one, and it's actually what's wrong with my lawnmower.
