Prorogue

The Governor General has agreed to prorogue parliament until late January.

I imagine there'll be quite a bit of intense campaigning, as the Conservatives will have to defend what they've done, and pass a confidence vote upon resuming parliament, and then again for their budget.

=( Of course they would do that, wouldn't they?

I'm really surprised she agreed to. Lame. Lame of the conservatives to ask too.

shes canadian enough to ensure that things progress slowly.

That said, its a good thing that there is nothing pressing for the gov. to be doing now. /sarcasm

Nothing like dismissing Parliament against its wishes. How very Charles I.

The only way this delay makes sense is if he wants another election when he is defeated.

This is not the birthday present I wanted.

Yay, another $300 million down the tubes.

Your example was exicuted for high treason.

I'm really disappointed. Let's make this go on longer just when we need it over faster.

I was actually kind of surprised by the whole back-and-forth on this issue. Also surprised at the seeming number of people violently against a coalition government - guess they forget they're not voting for the prime minister...

Amused by those who think proportional representation would avoid this issue - you're MORE likely to have minority/coalition governments under this system. Single-Transferable-Vote, there's a system worth investigating.
