I recently signed up to do the 25 km of the Cambridge Tour De Grand, so I figured I should actually get out on my bike and make sure I could actually still do some long distance biking, with how out of shape I've gotten in my old age. :)

So, I thought I'd do maybe a 15 km route around northern Waterloo. On the way I got distracted by signs for the Trans-Canada Trail, so I thought I'd follow to see where it goes. (answer: up to the new Wal-Mart, and then disappears, or at least couldn't find the entrance from there. The website indicates there's a trail that follows the expressway, but I must have missed it.)

So, from there, I figured I was already most of the way to St. Jacobs, and my sister wanted me to drop by the reptile expo there that she was helping exhibit at and say Hi, so I did. From there, I decided it was only a little bit farther to Conestogo, so I went there, and from there took Glasgow St. back to Waterloo (this is the one with the giant hill and the narrow-one-lane-decrepit-but-charming bridge). Then I thought, I'm so close to RIM Park, I should to the trail through there. And then I went home. Total: 28.90 km in 1h26min (not counting stops) for an average of 20 km/h. Not bad.

I guess I can do the 25 km route next weekend :)
